About Prescreening
We prescreen comic books to make sure they are good candidates for our Cleaning & Pressing Services. This service includes placing books under colour-corrected lighting to check for fixable defects: warping, moisture damage, ripples among other defects prior to pressing. (Included in Pressing Price)

This determination arrived at is based on a single factor:
Will Pressing give your comic a legitimate chance at a higher grade when certified?
Even though most books will look nicer after being cleaned and pressed, we perform prescreening with the ultimate goal of raising the numeric grade of your comic book.
If your submitted comic has been third party certified, we will evaluate the book as well as we can while reviewing the grader’s notes (if and when available).
If we determine that your book is unlikely to achieve a grade improvement, we will not remove the book from the holder. Your book will be returned to you still its original holder with the rest of your order.
We will open the case only if we are reasonably confident that we can improve the grade of the book. Please note that we are not responsible for any hidden defects that may not be visible through the holder. Once the case is opened, the comic will be pressed and processed as planned.
You can help with the prescreening process. Please take a moment by filling out the evaluation form below to the best of your ability and submit it with your comic books. This will give you a better understanding of the condition of your comic books and help speed up the process.
